This is how I feel....

Lately I just can't stop eating!! Anything that is in sight I hunger for (with a few exceptions of course!) I have a feeling this baby is going to be pretty big, at times I think I will be birthing a toddler and if I keep eating like this it just might become reality! I just keep getting bigger and bigger.... AND BIGGER! Proof will come later

Spring cleaning...Well sort of

I just love that welcome home feeling of a clean house. Granted I definitely don't have an obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to cleaning, but when the clutter becomes too intolerable I just cant take it anymore. Since Curtis' surgery our poor home has really suffered the consequences. Curtis has always done an incredible job with house chores and really gets things done but with him being down for the count I just felt slightly overwhelmed, still not a good excuse I know. Plus having a basketball blocking me from doing the everyday motions it becomes a little strenuous:) Well Saturday morning proved to be the perfect chance to catch up! Finally the refreshing feeling of a clean home is back, for the moment. Its amazing how a persons living space can really affect them.

On a side note Curtis is still trying to recover from his surgery. Unfortunately we have a had a few set backs, but I will save that for a later post.

n Now for a positive.... This last Thursday my sisters threw me a wonderful baby shower. It was so well put together! The theme was circles.... everything round like the tire of a motorcycle. They had my brother, Rory, cut out a motorcycle shape out of a sheet of metal. It was the coolest decoration! I loved how creative they were with the food selection. Serving cheese balls, lemon drop cookies, cake balls, grapes and cantaloupe, my fav chocolate donuts and many other flavorful options. People we so sweet and generous to us and Curtis and I are so grateful for all of the love and support that they have shown to us! It was just so great to see everbody! n

Ouch!!

So a couple of weeks ago Curtis has his ACL surgery. It was quite the nerve raking experience sitting in the waiting room for hours just waiting to hear that everything went well. Thankfully his surgery did go very smoothly. They ended up replacing the whole ACL with part of his hamstring and repaired his partially torn meniscus (Thank you Dr. West!) When they brought me into the recovery area where Curtis was coming to, it was pretty comical to see just how out of it he was. For some reason he was so concerned with the time and kept asking to tell him what time it was. Pain pills really hit him hard, possibly because Curtis is all about vitamins and refuses to use any other type of medication. It got pretty nasty too when it came to change his bandages, my weak stomach could barely handle it! Needless to say it has been a busy couple of weeks getting him back in the swing of things and trying to get our routine down. The toughest part of the this experience for Curtis was he got major cabin fever. Can't really blame him when he would have to just lay there, on the flat of his back with his leg elevated for practically a whole week. Also he has developed a nasty addiction to his ice machine. The clerks at both Smiths and Holiday Oil are my new friends, since this addiction takes about 3 small bags of crushed ice or 1 large bag every day and our freezer can only hold so much (so sad that I know this now!) I am frequenting these stores/gas station morning and night. We have also had to make a couple of trips to Costco this week which then means that Curtis gets to roll around in the electric wheelchair cart. I think he really enjoys that. I don't know if any of you have seen that Seinfeld where George pretends to be handicap and his boss buys him a Jazzy??? Shamefully our house has fallen into shambles and is desperate for a good clean which will be done this week, I hope!

As far as other updates I get all of the email updates from the pregnancy websites and have always thought it funny how week by week there is some type of comparison of your baby's growth to some type of fruit or vegetable. Accompanied by a photo.... This week my baby is the length of an English hothouse Cucumber (about 14 inches head to heal)

and moving on up to be as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.)

But that is just what they are telling me... I on the other hand feel like this baby is going to be huge!! When we went it at our 20 week ultrasound (that feels like so long ago!) our baby was measuring a couple days big but when they measured his femur he measured 2 weeks bigger!

All Hail the new NORDSTROMS

So I was hanging out with my mom yesterday doing what us ladies do best, shop! One of the many locations that we made it to was the new Nordstrom's. I don't know if many of you have had the chance to grace the Fashion Place Mall with your presence lately but lets just say... It's a must now with the new changes. Right when you enter the doors it just feels refreshing! The layout was exquisite. I admit I thought it was a little lame to have live models prettending to be statues, a little too eery to me. I think what I was most impressed with was that waiters/waitresses were walking around the shoe department with trays of drinks and desserts (the Italian lemon sorbet will bring joy to any pallet) Thankfully (for Curtis) I was able to just say no when it came to purchasing, I was just in it for the environment. Granted I wouldn't object to a new pair of Jimmy Choo's shoes but hey a girl can continue to dream. So from there mom and I ventured to the Rack (another old past time and all time fav) I noticed there is a huge selection of designer jeans and other various items being added to their inventory. Speaking of I hope that everyone is aware of the grand opening of the new Nordy's Rack in Sandy!!! I was just reading that they will have a drawing and one lucky person is going to be the first let into the store opening day and will have 90 seconds, repeat, 90 SECONDS to grab up to $1,000 worth of merchandise. Since I read that I started to think of strategies of how I could do that in only 90 seconds... Unfortunatly my husbands keeps shooting them all down. I think he is nervous about the opening and the dent it could possibly have in our pocket book. Exciting stuff! And mom thanks for baby's new outfits! It was a fun day out with you. I think Curtis was more upset that we went to Nelson's without him, just the cherry on top!

Pop!

Well here you go! My first post of a belly shot. 20 weeks plus and I can't believe we are where we are. Being pregnant has been a whole new experience (duh! I know) I do admit that being able to feel my little guy move (constantly might I add) is truly an incredible way to feel connected to my baby. Curtis is so cute, he will cup his hands around my growing belly and talk to the baby, which in turn makes Jack jealous like no other.

Curtis and I have been pretty busy. We are preparing for his surgery (suprise) which he is having in a couple of weeks and will be down for the count for... well a while. He is getting his ACL replaced/remade/fixed? From his surgery they say he will be able to run at about 16 weeks which is 2 days after our due date! So we are trying to take care of everything we can now like getting the baby room all done. The background to this picture is our little project from yesterday. We started taping off the room and getting it ready for paint (probably tomorrow) and I have started to hunting down some fun fabrics to make the baby bedding (Material Girls by the way is a BIG weakness of mine)

This week we also finished painting our bedroom (a bright peacock blue!) it is pretty fun and a good change from the blinding white walls they used to be (please note our new bedding I got for a killer deal from Overstock.com!)

I know it looks way vibrant but I blame the flash on giving it SO much light! It looks a little toned down normally. Take note of our mis-matching bedroom set, my butterfly lamp and Curt's sophisticated lamp. Also Curt's bedside humidifier and kleenex... My poor baby has been sick this weekend (which he blames on eating salad, yeah pretty ridiculous)

Our biggest project will be this summer finishing our backyard (finally, no more muddy Jack!!!) which is being funded by U. Sam! Our next doc appt is this Wednesday in which I will have plenty of more pictures of the little man and even a video (maybe I can figure out how to post that) I was telling Curtis what if we go in and they say "Oh actually it looks like you are actually having a little girl" Curtis' reply to that was "Well they better have a good explanation for what was between her legs at the last ultrasound!" We would be thrilled either way, we are just so esctatic about this new life of parenthood we will just be grateful for what Heavenly Father blesses us with!

This is my adorable niece Rori Ana and my Momma! She is just such a cute fun little baby I couldn't help but show her off!

I have the best husband ever!

Valentines this year by far beat all years past! My sweet, dear husband surprised me with a couples massage at Sanctuary. It was SO amazing! As most of you all know I am such a wimp when it comes to pain and being pregnant I have been struggling with most all the pregnant woes that us women experience. A massage was just what I wanted/needed and am so grateful that he was so thoughtful! Not only was it just that I got most of my kinks worked out but the couples package was very romantic!!! I highly recommend this type of experience if anyone is looking for a great gift!

Little Movements

Yesterday before church Curtis finally was able to feel our little bud move! What an overwhelming feeling it is to be able to feel those little movements of our little man and to be able to share them with Curtis. I think it helped Curtis feel even more connected to not only the pregnancy and the never ending crazyness that becomes me but more connected of the life growing inside of me.
